Beginnings by Angelus Maximius

A great conspiracy threatens the Roman Empire. An adventure that combines Roman Mythology, LitRPG, and Dungeons and Dragons!
An innocent boat ride turns sour for a nobleman named Marius Sextus. After drifting to the coast of a humble Roman town, he gets a cryptic message from a dead sailor and a strange medallion he had. Marius is saved from a dangerous beast by a humble Iberian fisherman who has a gift for magic.

With not much to go on, Marius and his new friend go on a journey to return home and find out what is really going on. Meanwhile, a sinister Roman necromancer threatens to plunge Rome into a period of darkness. Is this necromancer pulling the strings or is there an even higher power involved? Also, how does the secret Arcani intelligence society play into this 'betrayal' of Rome?

The heroes will level up their skills as they travel through Roman Hispania. There are many towns to explore, friendships to create, mines to dig, and cryptic puzzles to solve. Also, they will fight off mythical creatures such as the cyclops, along with legionnaire zombies that are bought back to life. Also, there are rumors of magic dice that can change the outcome of a battle for better or worse! Can these average Romans halt the plot of betrayal or will Rome fall to this unknown evil force?


In this turn-based LitRPG adventure, rolling a 20 can mean survival while rolling a 1 can mean instant death.
