Important! This method is a temporary measure, since it is better to download an updated repack.
To update the game to version 1.0.3.7, you need to do the following:

1) Open the folder with the installed game (for example, as I have C: gamesleft4dead_1.0.3.1left4dead).
2) Open the steam.inf file with notepad and change the number 1.0.3.6 to 1.0.3.7. It should get something like this
