***This romantic suspense and mystery is a companion book to the Kindle Time Travel Romance Best Seller THE RUBY BROOCH. The story includes an eclectic group of family and friends.   ***
Meredith Montgomery, owner of a Napa, California winery, is recovering from three traumatic losses and doesn't need a fourth, but that's all about to change. Can this woman who works 24/ 7 and whose face graces the cover of *Wine Digest* handle what she has to face or will her legacy be more important than a man's love and ultimately her life?
Scotsman and Thoroughbred breeder Elliott Fraser has loved and lost and learned to settle for less than what his heart truly desires. When he meets a long-legged ray of California sunshine he decides he doesn't want to settle any longer, but the murder of his multi-million dollar Thoroughbred spins his life in a new direction that could make loving her a deadly proposition.

* The Last MacKlenna is a great romantic read. You can't help but ooh and ah at the wealth that surrounds strong leads Elliott and Meredith. Lowry Logan elegantly and purposefully gives her readers a great taste of Meredith's life as president of her family-owned vineyard and Elliott's in the high powered world of thoroughbred race horses. These two broken souls fall deeply in love and we root hard for them to overcome their many obstacles. And I would be remiss if I didn't add that this novel comes complete with a gripping mystery--one that will make your heart pound. Along for Meredith and Elliott's journey are a fine group of quirky, strong and loyal characters. The Last MacKlenna is first in Romance.*

When I first approached Logan's work, I expected to be confronted by a star-trekky series of superficial, time-travel inventions that are ten a penny and simply don't appeal to me at all. How wrong I was. In reality, I found a writer of ingenuity, with a depth of understanding of the human condition and the ability to share it with the reader that far exceeded my expectations. Yes--I have to admit it; that exceeded my expectations of a modern woman and an American woman at that.
Her two novels to date, The Ruby Brooch and The Last MacKlenna, both of which I've read and hugely enjoyed, explore the lives of two women, Kit MacKlenna and Meredith Montgomery both of whom face worlds of adversity and come through them thanks to a mixture of such determination and, it has to be said, pig-headedness, that the reader is drawn into their lives and wants them to succeed.
Their men, Cullen Montgomery and Elliot Fraser, are developed with a deftness of touch that I once again consider exceptional in a female writer. I feel that Logan is a writer to be read, enjoyed and admired, and having found her voice in her work to date, may well produce a contemporary novel of lasting significance. I shall look forward to that.

KIRKUS REVIEW
The worlds of thoroughbred racing and high-end wine-making provide a backdrop to this novel that mixes international romance with a mysterious death.
Meredith Montgomery is always racing to something, whether it's a meeting to talk about her new wine that's about to launch or to hit the trails in preparation for another marathon. She's the kind of woman who seems to have it all--but that description also includes breast cancer. A second bout with the disease has Meredith running scared. Before she undergoes surgery, she takes what she hopes will be a quick trip to Edinburgh to do some research on her family's winery. There, she runs into an intriguing character, thoroughbred breeder Elliott Fraser. The two are immediately attracted to one another, but their ties to their work and their smartphones threaten their budding romance.
The second novel in the MacKlenna family story proves that author Logan (The Ruby Brooch, 2012) has a smooth, sincere storytelling style that turns what could be an ordinary romance into much more.
The heroes, Meredith and Elliott, are extremely human despite their wealth and power. Meredith is wounded from a bad marriage and her cancer trauma, and Elliott is recovering from a past attack on his life and reeling from a current attack on his horses, which could cost him his family business.
When the two ultimately get together, their volatile love is strained by their inability to relinquish control--which is part of the reason the story works, since every time it looks like the couple is going to succeed, a realistic problem gets in their way.
A human and humorous look at two headstrong characters battling the challenges that come with falling in love.
### About the Author
**
** ** I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and attended college in New Jersey where I earned a BA in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. After attending the Philadelphia Institute for Paralegal Training, I returned to Central Kentucky and worked as a real estate and tax paralegal.

My muse simmered on the back burner until my two daughters left for college. Five days after completing the first draft of my first manuscript, my husband died. The manuscript went into a drawer where it stayed for ten years. Healing was a slow process, but two weddings and five grandchildren have a way of putting life into perspective. Following the birth of my second grandchild, I found my writer's voice again.

I'm a marathoner and live in Lexington, Kentucky. I'm blessed with a wonderful and supportive family and circle of friends who have encouraged me and celebrated each and every step of my journey.
