Beyond the Romans - Posthuman Perspectives in Roman Archaeology

About the Author: Sergio Gonzalez Sanchez has recently completed a PhD in Roman Archaeology at the University of Leicester (UK) in which he gathered a substantial body of anthropological, textual, and interview data in order to analyse the origin and evolution of modern Dutch archaeological discourses around the topic of Roman:'barbarian' interactions in the Lower Rhine area. His wider research interests include the influence of the Roman-Barbarian dichotomy in the creation of both ancient and modern identities, and the influence of contextual factors in the development of social and cultural discourses about the past.
