WORLD WAR II DESTROYER SAILOR: PELHAM'S REVENGE - James Law

Volume Two in the Pacific War Series features the adventures of a naval officer who advances from Seaman Apprentice (E-1) to the rank of Commander (O-5) in the United States Navy during the 1930s and the outbreak of World War II. Commander David A. Pelham, USN, is from a wealthy family in New York. Pelham has had a series of hard knocks in his civilian life and is itching to take revenge on someone. Through a series of chance events, he becomes the acting Commanding Officer of a Porter Class destroyer in January 1942. Captain Pelham prepares his ship for combat and uses his operational training, tactical skills, and audacious daring to avenge the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. He is assisted in his adventurous schemes by Captain Harrold "Rats" Mueller, USMC, and his C-46 "Commando" crew. Harry and his "Rat Pack" were featured in Law's first book: "World War II Transport Pilot." The story is a tribute to the "Tin Can" sailors that manned fast, lightly armored, and highly versatile destroyers during World War II.
