That is why mercantilist ideas try to respond to sectoral and specific problems. They are not, strictly speaking, a set of ordered theories, nor do they provide answers to economic problems as a whole.
They try to resolve current situations but they always reflect conflicts of interest. For them, the objective of economic activity is to increase the wealth of the Nation. THEY WONDER BY WHAT MEANS TO ENRICH A COUNTRY.
Regardless of the diverse points of view that the mercantilists have, they share a common idea about the State, the Nation and power. The rest are organized from certain basic themes.
Thus, in the first place are the issues of money, related to wealth, prices, interest rate, exchange rate and balance of payments. A second place is occupied by issues related to population, industry and work.
