In contrast to past parts, which were aimed at cooperative passage, Escape Dead Island is a single player game. You play for Cliff Kalo, the son of a well-known media tycoon who intends to shoot an action documentary and for that he goes to the infected zombie island - Bana. Having stolen your father's yacht, you and your friends went to the island. At first, it seemed like a fun game to take off a zombie will turn into a real nightmare, in which, in order to survive, there is a hard way to go. As before, you can freely use the island, but this time you need to act as quietly as possible. Any of your extra sound can attract crowds of zombies, it will be extremely difficult to get away from them.

The action of zombie horror Dead Island takes place on the tropical island of Bana, located in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean. There is the hotel Royal Palms, where the rich rest. But a sudden mysterious epidemic turns a beautiful place into hell, filled with crowds of zombies. Four heroes - Xiang Mei (spa employee), Sam Bee (rap star), Logan (former American football star) and Purne (bodyguard, former police officer) - face all the horrors of the island and fight for their lives. The main feature of the gameplay is the ability to use virtually any items found in the virtual world as a weapon. Also players expect full freedom of action - to the set goal it will be possible to go in different ways. The main part of the fighting takes place with the use of short-range weapons and a first-person view, but one can also find firearms, which are very few on the island.
