William Darcy is an oil magnate, president of Darcy Enterprises, a Fortune 500 company, but he has never been comfortable living up to the Darcy name and carrying on the family tradition, in spite of the money and prestige of his position.
Escaping from Houston to visit his cousin, Richard Fitzwilliam, in the Hill Country, William meets Dr. Elizabeth Bennet, a dentist. Needless to say, they get off to a bad start.
