When I finished my nursing degree and moved to Pittsburgh to be a pediatric nurse, I knew I could provide a safe haven for children struggling for their next breath, even if I couldn't guarantee the same when they went home. Until one little baby boy captures my heart in a way I could never explain, a pull to hold him in my arms and reassure him that I will always be with him.
