Growing up, I always wanted to be a lawyer so that I could help people. I held onto that dream all the way through law school and through the interview process for my current firm, insisting that pro bono work be part of the deal. I'd been so naive to not see that "We'd love to see you explore that after you are acclimated to the position" was just a bunch of frilly words used to get me to sign on the bottom line. Now I was working my way up the ladder in one of the most prestigious law firms in town and completely miserable.
The only time I can relax and let the acid in my stomach settle is when I get home and sit on the couch and sink into my little space with my blanket and sippy cup and watch cartoons. Timmy is saving my life, but it's not enough.

I'd never been one for finding people to date or even be friends with online. But when my new position costuming a stage production of my favorite book, A Little Princess , renewed my love of the work, I joined an online book club featuring the beautiful tale.
